A new start to a new journey
My four years of high school didn’t mean much to me. I was
always working a lot to provide for my family and myself. I was not that type of
girl who was always invited to party or hangout. My whole high school year I didn’t
make as much friends I suppose to. I always told myself maybe next year I’ll
get involved in things going on in the school, maybe I’ll have a hand full of friend
but work and school work got in the way.
Going to college was always something
that was on my mind. I have to hear that from my parent almost every day for
the past four years of high school. Knowledge is the key to open doors, and
different opportunity in life the more doors you can open the more successful
you will be in life. I never got what my parent trying to say or even the
meaning of that. Until they told me that if they came to America when they were
younger they would not be doing the job their doing right now.
Coming to SCSU was a new journey and
a new path that I will go through. SCSU had given me a second chance. I was not
accepted to Southern fully. I had to prove to then that I can do it; I had to
do the SEOP program for five week. It thought me how to manage my time and
how to get my work done. I learn that I can’t quite even if I have a long way
to go. I thank god for letting me have
this opportunity. I made a lot of friends that I could go in get help from. I know
where to go if I have any question. I just LOVE SCSU AND NOTHING COULDN’T GET
ANY BETTER.
